About My Clients

I love helping adults navigate the coming out process later in life. My clients are motivated for insight, change, and growth, and are ready for the commitment of ongoing therapy. I also enjoy working with third-culture kids struggling with issues around anxiety, depression, sexual and gender identity, and food/body-image concerns.

My Background and Approach

Therapy with me is very much client-centered. My job is to show up and hold the space for you to explore your concerns--providing presence, tools, and guidance as needed. We’ll work collaboratively to handle what comes up, in a way that feels safe and challenging. I use a trauma-informed approach to therapy, and sometimes integrate music--yours and mine--with relaxation-based imagery experiences to help relieve anxiety, explore core issues, and find healing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we all have the capacity to heal, change, and grow; and that it’s never too late. Change starts with acceptance, and acceptance can only happen in an environment of compassion. That’s what therapy can help with. The other place it helps with is transforming those pain points into growth, and finding a clear path forward. And sometimes, we just need a safe space to feel emotions--sadness, anger, fear, and even joy. Therapy helps there too. I also believe in the healing power of music. As a child, music was the language of my emotions. Through it, I expressed the unspeakable and processed the unknowable. Today I use music to help people discover, heal, and transform aspects of themselves through the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music. Personally, I've worked with issues related to food and body image, coming out later in life, and living and raising a family in a foreign country. These struggles have shaped me and my perspectives in therapy.
