About My Clients
I work with clients experiencing bipolar disorder, depression, chronic illness, and anxiety, often along with job and career stress or relationship concerns. Maybe you've been depressed for a while and nothing you've tried has helped. Maybe you’re stuck in a job you can't stand, trying to find direction, or dealing with a sudden illness or unexpected conflict.
My Background and Approach
I decided to become a therapist after dealing with my own mental health struggles and witnessing the struggles of friends and family. My approach to therapy is collaborative - whether you are new to therapy, have had unsatisfactory experiences in the past, or looking to start again, I aim to offer alternative ways of looking at the problems in your life. I also have extensive training working with cancer patients, their family members, and people experiencing bereavement.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you are more than a diagnosis and that problems need to be examined within the context of the world we live in. Your distress may very well be a reasonable response to living in a society that is hyper-focused on productivity and consumerism. The pressures of trying to conform or live up to impossible standards can lead us to forget about our own hopes, dreams, and desires. However, it doesn't have to be this way. I believe we each have strengths and resources that can help us stand up to the challenges we face. My hope is to help you feel empowered to lead a more purposeful and fulfilling life.
