I am a clinical creative arts psychotherapist specializing in the holistic treatment of trauma and issues of identity.
Creative Art Therapist in New York, NY
I am a trained practicioner of Havening Techniques - a neuroscience-based method that frees the brain to resolve its traumatic memories and stress responses. It's efficient, immediate, and often lots of fun - especially when I integrate it with play. It is ideally suited to treating unconscious material that is stored as generational trauma. For posttraumatic growth, I employ the use of the arts to process grief and passage between the past, present, and future.
We live in a time of intense political other-ing. One of the things that makes my work unique is my ongoing study of social psychology. I am committed to non-judgmental support of your best and processing the unconscious content of political persuasions and biases so that you can have more peaceable and appreciative relationships within yourself and with others.
I have observed and studied the systems of spiritual and political religions and cults, and I have successfully treated this kind of trauma by helping clients reprocess the events, identify blind spots, establish boundaries confidently, obtain healing experiences, and develop healthy relationships - with self, with others, and with power.
I integrate a wide range of approaches that target mind, body, heart, and soul. I use art therapy and drama therapy for the mind and body to process things that words cannot express. In addition to addressing problematic thoughts and behaviors, I offer depth approaches (existential and psychoanalytic) for growth to take place in a meaningful way.
