About My Clients
Are you constantly running in circles getting nowhere, exhausted because you've tried every avenue to feel heard? Are you losing connection with your loved ones and feeling stuck? Often this disconnect contributes to our own anxieties, worries, and loneliness. Without connection we are merely surviving and perpetuating the idea that we have to experience this life on our own. Through the attachment lens we can build a bond together that sustains a lifetime.
My Background and Approach
I reside in New York City with my partner Carlos and our canine companion of 10 years, freckles. We take advantage of all that the city has to offer with quality time exploring broadway shows, dancing, green spaces and traveling. We value growth and challenging each others viewpoints through many of the Gottman research based activities and have our own couples therapist that brings Emotionally Focused Therapy principles into our lives when our own patterns leave us stuck. I believe in experiential ways of being so I practice what I teach others in my own relationship so I mean it when I say, “I get it.” When I’m not supporting others in a therapeutic space, I am a artist exploring somatic avenues of expression in the world of arts.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I watched others suffer through mental health and substance use throughout my life. It led me to a path of discovery of how humans experience the world and each other. Throughout my time as a social worker I became an active member of the community supporting my fellow LGBTQ+ members, became a ally for causes such as BLM, and opposing members of congress that suppress our trans community & women's right to abortion access. I continued my work while developing my license as a therapist by volunteering with organizations that support voting accessibility, youth access to mental health care, and organizations that support youth of color greater accessibility to outdoor activities.
