About My Clients
I frequently help clients who feel anxious, disconnected, despairing, and self-critical, and who lack trust in themselves and others. I support clients who are breaking negative cycles inherited from others, becoming unstuck from patterns that no longer serve them. I support clients to get out of their heads and take steps forward to a life worth living. With families, I partner with parents to reduce tension, troubleshoot behavior challenges, and enhance the quality of their relationships.
My Background and Approach
I aim to provide anti-oppressive and trauma-informed care that takes into account the whole you, what you have experienced, and your goals. My work is relational, psychodynamic, and insight-oriented. I am warm, authentic, and gentle, but will also challenge you to allow for growth. I have a strong background in working with families. Whether I am seeing an individual or a family, I utilize my expertise in family systems to explore how your relationships and environments were and are contributing to your current experiences. I support clients to find more function and fulfillment in relationships, whether that be friendships, child-and-parent, partnerships, or otherwise. Beyond the family system, I also pay attention to the societal systems and circumstances affecting you in your day to day. As an art therapist, art-making can be used to make sense of emotions and experiences on a deeper level outside of spoken language. Art-making is always an option but is never required.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I empower clients who are trying to get things right, but feel like they always fall short. Maybe you are stepping out on your own as a young adult, or navigating the mounting pressures of being a teen, or feeling overwhelmed by the stress of parenting a child dealing with their own big feelings. I support clients to accept difficult parts of themselves to feel more whole. I support skill-building to reduce anxiety & to enhance your trust in yourself & your abilities. I often support people with experiences like depression, attachment or developmental trauma, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, complex trauma/CPTSD.
