About My Clients
Maybe you are the parent of a teen or young adult who is struggling with anxiety or depression. Maybe they are going through a big transition in life and need support. You see them trying to face these challenges but don't know the best way to help. I can help. Or, perhaps you are facing the world of infertility/fertility treatments and need a space to process the thoughts and feelings that come with walking that path. It can be a very lonely experience that few understand.
My Background and Approach
I approach our work together from a place of using a trauma informed lens, as well as looking at all the ways your experiences and our world interconnect. I place a strong emphasis on identifying your personal values and how we can use them to help you reach your goals. In working together, you or your child/young adult will learn ways to cope with difficult emotions and situations. It's important to learn who you are, what you want, and how to get there in a healthy way. I will work to help you identify your strengths and to build on them to increase your confidence. I tend to be direct and use humor when appropriate but have a deep sense of empathy to meet you or your child/young adult where they are. I have my own lived experience as well as over 15 years of professional experience that I bring into our relationship. I deeply value knowledge and actively seek out ongoing training, education and support to continue learning the best way to help clients transform their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in relationships first, foremost, and always. I believe in your humanity and your expertise in yourself. I am committed to providing services to people regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religious or spiritual beliefs, and socioeconomic status. I seek to continue learning and unlearning about how our history and current systems cause and uphold harm, as well as what I can do to move progress forward. I strive to recognize my places of privilege and areas for growth both personally and professionally. The concept of how systems, history and life are all connected is really interesting to me and drives a lot of my curiosity. I am convinced community is essential to health, wellness, and healing and look for ways to incorporate that into my work and growth.
