About My Clients
My clients often struggle to cope with stress, depression, and/or anxiety and are ready for a change. They have a hard time managing difficult emotions and interactions with family members. I help youth who: feel irritable, constantly worry, experience school/work stress or decline, have difficulty focusing or completing tasks, have difficulty sleeping, struggle to communicate without escalation or shutting down, and/or drink, use substances, have suicidal thoughts, and/or self-harm.
My Background and Approach
I foster a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere to help teenagers and young adults explore their feelings and initiate change. I use collaboration and encouragement to help clients learn new ways to cope. I utilize my client’s strengths and interests and my knowledge of specific strategies to customize treatment to fit their needs. I currently am seeing clients via Telehealth. I also see clients in-person via "Walk-and-Talk" therapy at a local park. At the park we can walk during our session, or we can sit on separate chairs in a secluded area of the park.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an ally of the LGBTQ+ community. I support clients who may be exploring their sexuality or gender identity, or experiencing distress or conflict related to their sexual and/or gender identities. Sometimes LGBTQ+ issues are the main focus of our therapy, other times, it’s simply helpful to have a therapist who is aware and understanding of your unique experiences. I also provide gender affirming care letters pro bono.
