About My Clients

Becoming a parent is one of the most complex life transitions someone can experience. Simultaneously, experiencing a miscarriage or infant loss is often indescribable. There are many aspects of these changes that can evoke unexpected conflicting emotions, uncertainty, a new identity, and relational stress. My focus is to therapeutically support mothers and their families during pregnancy, postpartum, and reproductive health experiences, including infertility, birth trauma, miscarriage, and loss.

My Background and Approach

My specializations include perinatal/postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, grief and trauma related to reproductive health, infant loss and miscarriage, birth trauma, transitions in relational dynamics, and navigating a new identity after baby. Additionally, I have experience working with people with autism, OCD, depression, and personality disorders. The main therapeutic goal is to create a comforting, supportive space for mothers and their families, and grieving parents to better understand what this life change means to them. One's personal reproductive health experiences are extremely important and deserve to be respected in a compassionate, ethical, and professional manner.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My personal belief is that all families deserve support in multifaceted ways. Mothers often times suffer in silence due to societal expectations, stigmas, judgments, and general misunderstandings of what it means to become a parent. Similarly, those who experience a miscarriage, birth trauma, and infant loss are also expected to manage is specific ways that are not typically central to humanism. My hope is to dispel these limitations and allow each person to safely understand what it means to become a parent and/or experience significant complex loss or trauma. My clinical approach is grounded in combining trauma-informed evidence-based practices, the expressive arts, and knowledge of perinatal mental health to individualize patient care during this delicate time.
