My Background and Approach
My therapy style and approach are trauma-centered and person-focused. I am interactive and warm and believe in treating everyone with respect, compassion, and transparency. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy primarily influences my theoretical focus, along with a person-centered approach, to establish goals and understanding of your concerns. I also draw from somatic therapy, a holistic therapy that studies the mind-body connection regarding the psychological past. It is extremely important to collaborate with you to tailor my treatment and approach to what works best for you and your needs. You are the expert on you, and I am here to help guide healing and growth alongside you. I believe this authentic connection facilitates the counseling relationship and aids in healing and growth throughout treatment. I am trained and experienced in EMDR therapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and solution-focused brief therapy.
