Empathy and acceptance are key to my work as a I honor your unique story in a therapeutic alliance. I believe that compassion and unconditional acceptance act as healing elements in suffering. I affirm all LGBTQIA+ identities and wholeheartedly welcome you—just as you are. Inside and outside of the therapy room, my work is oriented toward social justice.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a research-backed treatment approach for trauma and distress. Traumatic experiences can become locked in the brain. Stuck memories are sensitive to triggers, leading to uncontrollable feelings of powerlessness and fear. EMDR utilizes eye movements or tapping to unlock the brain's processing system to facilitate healing and allow beliefs about the event to be reprocessed.
