Somewhere in the midst of therapy, everyone has a deeper voice that wants calm, compassion and gentle acceptance. By using guided meditation, music, instruments and/or soothing words of encouragement, I love to delve into this practice to allow my clients to leave session in a more peaceful and still engaged state of being. Within this realm, they can grasp their essential truth take-away and in essence "heal themselves".
The golden nugget of person-centered therapy is observing the mysteries of the person in the chair opposite me, to hear their story with dignity and compassion, and offer up my listening of them in a reflection, which I hold up to them as a precious gift and allow them to look within. Sometimes, it is easy. Other times, difficult, but it is always a learning process that allows for greater humanity and forgiveness of soul. It's these moments of vulnerable growth that make it all worthwhile.
Not only am I a practicing artist, I also explore multiple and interwoven modalities with clients, as I love to watch and participate with people who create the fabric of their lives in 3D. Within the act of creation lies the seed of what has human beings see their meaning, their spiritual underlay, the mystery of who they are. While seeing the end result is fascinating, the journey there is what holds the answer. That promise is what drives my goal to help people heal each day.
