My Background and Approach
Feeling ready to live in deeper connection with yourself, others and the world? To decrease stress, pain and suffering? Life can pull us away from and block us from our being our most authentic selves which can make us feel lost, disconnected, and alone. Therapy is a place to reconnect, grow and find healing in safe and reliable connection. As a trauma informed therapist I practice from the knowledge of how trauma shapes the way we engage in the world. I believe in being an active participant in your journey and promise to be present, engaged and will offer both accountability and affirmation. The name Pacific Peak Counseling comes from growing up in the pacific northwest and my life long love of the mountains that surround us. I find mountains to be an extraordinary example of both the scary challenges that may seem too difficult to climb and the beauty that often comes on the other side of those challenges.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I utilize the power of curiosity as a tool to get to know and connect more deeply with you. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and the healing that can come from being in connection in a safe, reliable and affirming environment. Life can feel so lonely at times, but I promise you do not have to be alone on your journey to healing. I graduated from Central Washington University with my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling. I was drawn to this field of work through my own personal experiences with mental health and my deep passion and care for others. After graduating I spent two years working at a long-term inpatient facility for women in recovery from drugs and alcohol. While there, I learned about the resilience of the human spirit, I believe that if we are open and willing to try we are capable of anything.
