My counseling style is empathetic with a compassionate base. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and kindness. My approach is Person-Centered which is Affirming and Nonjudgmental. I realize that no one person or relationship is the same and will tailor the dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
With a degree in Art Therapy coupled with my license as a professional counselor, I believe the combination of creative and expressive approaches like art therapy techniques with therapy is effective and healing.
Mostly coming from a Strengths-Based perspective, I believe everyone comes with strengths and positive qualities that they might have overlooked or could not see until therapy.
As a proud member of the LGBT community (after 30 years), I know what it's like to come out, especially later in life. I also work with people from the entire spectrum of sexuality and gender. I create a safe space for self-reflection and self-expression.
Using Strengths-Based Therapy techniques and creative approaches, I can help with that boost of self-confidence and self-esteem that might be currently missing.
Particularly focusing on social anxiety, but also generalized anxiety as well, I can help by using different Solution-Based techniques to focus on the present and future to make life and especially social situations easier.
