About My Clients
My focus is on supporting kids, teens, and young adults to navigate things like depression, anxiety, trauma, life stressors/transitions, self worth, self identity, and relationships. Together, we will connect to your emotional experience, explore why certain patterns of thinking and behaving exist, heal wounds of the past, and create meaningful change for you.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is strengths based, person centered, and trauma informed. I take a holistic and integrative approach, drawing from a variety of approaches to incorporate both the mind and body; most commonly incorporating acceptance and commitment therapy, internal family systems, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and other creative outlets such as art, play, and yoga. I work in a collaborative manner that often involves education, encouragement, humor, and careful listening. Please note, I am an out of network provider for all insurances. If your plan is a PPO, you can still use your insurance, as most PPO plans include out of network benefits! How it would work is that you would pay upfront for the sessions, and afterward, I'd provide you with an invoice to submit to insurance for reimbursement. Please feel free to reach out if you have additional questions about out of network benefits.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a social worker, I believe in the dignity and worth of every person. I believe it is important to be a social advocate on a broader scale alongside my work as a therapist. I strive to be culturally sensitive in my work with individuals. I know that there is always more to learn, so I am always happy to listen non-judgmentally and learn from my clients. Outside of my work as a therapist, I love spending time in nature- hiking, biking, snowboarding, or just relaxing outside. I am also an animal lover with two dogs, and have been lucky enough to be a foster for many other amazing dogs and kittens on their way to their forever homes.
