About My Clients
I am aware of multi-cultural competencies including religions, sexual preferences, gender, and identities. I have been in practice since 2017. I work with client's thoughts and feelings that create behaviors the client can identify they want to change. Diagnosis can help understand the condition of mental health issues. Treatment is dependent on what you want to change from a strength based compassionate approach. Email me to book an appointment evenings & Saturdays available.
My Background and Approach
I currently hold a license in LMHCA. Received 32 hour training in DBT in 2020 and have facilitated DBT groups. Developed curriculum to facilitate a Grief and Loss Group. Received training from the University of Washington in CBT-P to treat clients with psychosis. My experience working with clients who have experienced trauma is extensive. Using the brain-body connection to educate clients on how the nervous system informs the brain to protect the body. Educating clients how trauma triggers stored in the body cause trauma triggers to react giving the client sometimes an understanding why their reactions can be intense. What triggers might the client look for to help reduce reactions and regulate self once triggers begin to respond differently.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Our history helps us understand our beliefs sometimes through the lens of trauma. Learning how our thoughts and feelings affect us, helps us to understand our behaviors. To create healthy relationships we can exam the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that affect others. Sometimes we need to learn healthy boundaries and forgiveness to be our whole selves.
