About My Clients

I am passionate about working with adult individuals and relationships. I believe that humans have the potential for deeper self-awareness and growing the capacity for understanding the hurt and trauma that impacts their lives. In using a framework of warmth, non-judgement, and cultural humility, I believe that the therapeutic relationship can offer deep support for clients in exploring their inner world and identities, expanding their awareness, building skills, and increasing self-compassion.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate that graduated from Portland State University in 2021 with a Master’s in Counseling and a background in development and education. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is dependent on building safety and trust, which means approaching my work with clients at a pace that they feel comfortable with. My work centers on understanding attachments, narratives and behavior patterns that impact my client’s lives and relationships. I support clients in their work towards feeling empowered and curious about their own lives while also acknowledging systems of power and oppression that impact their lived experiences. I use elements of Internal Family Systems, Person-Centered Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy with a lens of social justice and equity throughout my work. I believe that therapy can be a catalyst for change and can have significant positive impacts on your life, relationships, and the communities you are a part of.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in the importance of intentionally continuing my own education around social justice, equity, identities and lived experiences that are different than my own so that I can best serve my clients and meet them where they need support. As a queer woman, I have had the experience of not being witnessed in the fullness of my identities which is why I'm especially passionate about supporting members of communities that have been historically minoritized.
