About My Clients
You are ready to live fully. But something seems to be getting in the way. You might not know exactly what it is, but it's frustrating. And you might even feel guilty about being frustrated; you might feel like you don't deserve to complain, because your life has been pretty good, and many others are far worse off. Your experience matters. We will make a space for you to celebrate your successes and strengths and mourn your losses, so that you can move forward in your life with ease.
My Background and Approach
I offer a warm, honest, and collaborative space within which we can explore issues that are troubling you. My aim is for you to feel more fully alive, to find the flexibility and resilience for stronger connections to others and a more vigorous pursuit of your goals and dreams. Many of us feel blocked or confused as we approach the things we most deeply want. This confusion can be the result of an important emotional cycle in our lives that has been interrupted. We often develop coping strategies under unique and sometimes difficult conditions. These strategies were necessary and helpful at the time, but now they are unconsciously getting in the way of relationships, career goals, creativity, or just the ability to be content and feel good about ourselves. We feel that something is off, and we frequently blame ourselves. My goal is to help you find the emotional flexibility to use your energy and creativity in ways that you choose, and the freedom to live a more satisfying life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value honesty. I value the strengths and vulnerabilities of being human. I value mistakes and the opportunities they provide for real apology, forgiveness, repair, and growth. I value the acceptance of actual limits, and the openness to discover that what we thought was a limit might not be one. I value relationships. I value the power of speaking truth and hearing it. I value the therapeutic process.
