About My Clients

I specialize in working with individuals with bipolar disorders, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, addiction, personality disorders, trauma/PTSD, sexual abuse, and domestic violence. In my work and research, I have focused on the ways in which neurobiology and temperament combine with exposure to discrimination, microaggressions, violence, and other forms of societal and systemic oppression to affect mental health and wellbeing, especially as this pertains to LGBTQIAAP+ and BIPOC individuals.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and flexible, and I am dedicated to providing a non-judgmental, supportive, safe and empathetic environment for you as you embark on your healing journey. I believe that you are the expert on yourself and that I am here to walk with you and hold space for you as you navigate this path. From addressing everyday stressors to helping manage the difficult – and sometimes debilitating – symptoms of high-acuity mental health disorders, I work to create a therapeutic relationship that can promote healing and functionality. My practice is inclusive, multicultural, feminist and LGBTQIAAP+ affirming. I utilize a range of therapeutic modalities to meet your unique needs, including, but not limited to, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), attachment theories, and mindfulness and somatic techniques. Above all, I work to create a safe space in which you feel truly seen and heard.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a queer woman, it is important to me that my work in inclusive and affirming. I have focused my practice and my research on providing the best trauma-informed and mindfulness-based care to those in typically underserved populations. I have extensive experience working with LGBTQIAAP+ clients, veterans, active-duty military personnel and military spouses, as well as those who are justice-involved, previously incarcerated, affiliated or experiencing homelessness. I am currently working to contract with both TRICARE and Medicare, and I hope to be able to accept both insurance plans in the near future. I believe in a collaborative and equal therapeutic relationship, and I will work to provide a safe and healing space for you as we begin our work together.
