About My Clients
You’re here because you’re worried, stressed, anxious and tired of white-knuckling through it. You feel lost where you are and not sure what steps to take next to get where you want to be. Maybe you’re stuck in a negative cycle of what-if's and obsess over perfection. You’re tired from keeping up with the expectations you have set for yourself. You might be feeling guilt or shame for not being able to get it together since you’ve been so good at it before. You don’t like being seen as a failure.
My Background and Approach
I lean into my authenticity, vulnerability, and uniqueness to create a space of trust. I have found that you will make greater progress when we toss expectations and perfectionism out the window and just say “this shit is hard.” I am genuine, compassionate, laid-back and direct. I bring this into session by creating a relaxed environment while also maintaining accountability. I will gently nudge you towards that difficult thing remind that you are capable. You are the expert of your own life and I will not let you forget that. I will not tell you what to do but I will guide you towards finding the answer that is within yourself. We will build skills and tools together to get through the difficult, overwhelming moments and to build resiliency and self compassion. I will meet you where you are in that moment while exploring challenges and successes. I will laugh at your jokes and be interested in the joys, successes, and messiness of your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone just wants to be seen and heard. Humans are relational beings, needing connection with others to help regulate our emotions. It is easy to forget this in our ever increasing community of isolation. It is important to me that you are seen and heard in your most authentic way and value ensuring the therapeutic space allows for it. As a childfree entrepreneur "business woman" with tattoos, I'm a little bit of a misfit. It can feel lonely and enhances the isolation. This is a place for misfits. I also understand that my areas of not fitting in are layered under my white privilege and will never know what it is like to not fit in as a marginalized group. I am a sensitive social worker at heart. This means I will cry at a commercial and then go find a way to help. I also have strong opinions on what city has the best tacos (San Antonio) and the best city in the world to visit (New Orleans). Some of my hobbies include my cats, gardening, sewing, and playing Mario Kart.
