About My Clients
Our teen and young adult years are not easy. The pressures faced can feel overwhelming. If you’ve noticed changes in yourself or your child related to sleep, eating habits, motivation, or withdrawal from things they used to enjoy, it might be time to consider counseling. Therapy provides a safe, confidential space for them to explore their feelings, learn coping skills, and build resilience. It's not about fixing anyone; it's about providing tools to navigate these challenging years and thrive.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in working with teens and young adults. I offer in-person and equine or horse-assisted therapy sessions in Magnolia, TX. Online counseling is an option for anyone in Texas. Life can be tough, and I feel fortunate to support clients in navigating the many changes and adjustments occurring during this life stage. I tend to lean into trauma-informed CBT, DBT, Relational-Cultural, and Family Systems counseling most often. Depending on client interests, I like to incorporate animals, art, music, or writing exercises into sessions. I strive to assist clients in feeling comfortable and at ease in sessions. I'm genuine and relatable in my counseling approach. Above all, I'm on your side and an ally in your journey. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate supervised by Monica McClain, LPC-S. I'm also a graduate of Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School, earning a Masters degree in Counseling, specializing in Addiction.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I feel relationships are the basis of stress and joy in our lives. I'm curious to understand the connections and disconnections in a client's life, how they may reoccur, and why. Uncovering patterns, positive or not, can help us explore events we are faced with. I also apply a holistic approach to my counseling practice. I am not solely focused on any one symptom, rather I am interested in what is happening to my client as a whole person.
