I offer a primarily behavioral approach to depressive symptoms (e.g. changes in appetite, disrupted sleep, low mood, social isolation, negative self talk, etc.). Once clients feel relief from their primary symptoms we can explore the origin of the depressive episode and continue to work on long term goals such as improved self esteem.
I have completed extensive training in the cognitive behavioral and holistic treatments of chronic pain. Prior to private practice I worked primarily in hospitals where I learned effective therapeutic treatment of chronic conditions and their comorbidities such as depression, employment problems, and familial issues.
I offer strengths based CBT for anxiety. I utilize an integrative approach to anxiety that is tailored to the individual client and their needs. Often it is beneficial to clients when I teach both CBT and DBT skills for anxiety management.
