My Background and Approach
I am existential and mindfulness based, I am down to earth, and I welcome humor in therapy. The tools and techniques I will use to help you are scientifically backed (my clients see progress as a result). In session I'll offer guided mindfulness exercises that you can use in your every day life. Each week I create a small piece of optional homework to enhance your growth between sessions and maximize the therapy experience. We'll spend time getting to know the various forms of your pain and discomfort. I have found that pushing pain away doesn't always work - it's our default coping strategy but there are many more ways to more effectively live with pain and I can't wait to share these with you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an ally and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community and an active supporter of Black Lives Matter. All humans are legal and I believe in our personal universal human rights. I am an adopter of rescue animals (four of them) and I volunteer to help immigrants land safely. I am continually learning and honing my skills and I am honored to connect with my clients.
