About My Clients
I specialize in working adults experiencing self-esteem difficulties and struggling to feel “good enough,” complex trauma survivors, family of origin/interpersonal conflict, generalized and social anxiety, depression, and struggles related to identity development. I am passionate about working with individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, first-generation Americans, and individuals with bi-cultural identities. I also enjoy working with artists/creators/makers of any medium!
My Background and Approach
With theoretical foundations rooted in psychodynamic, humanistic, trauma-informed, and existential tenets, I explore the impacts of early childhood relationships on present day relational patterns. Often times, the ways parents/childcare providers, friends, and romantic partners relate to us can have an impact on how we respond to present day relationships and how we view ourselves. By understanding your past and present, we will have more freedom and choice to shape your future. Aspects of our identity like our race, ethnicity, gender expression, sexuality, body size, immigrant status, socioeconomic status, and religious/spiritual beliefs can be areas in which we hold power/privilege or are oppressed/marginalized. Knowing about all these facets helps me better understand how you live through and experience the world around you. While therapy can often focus on what is not going well in your life, I also encourage us to discuss your personal strengths, passions, and laugh together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
At my practice, all races, cultures, sizes, spiritual/religious beliefs, sexual and gender identities are welcome. Hate is not tolerated.
