About My Clients
Most of my professional training has been catered to the child, adolescent, and teen population. I have experience in issues such as grief and loss, anxiety, depression, oppositional defiance, tantrum behaviors, anger, ADHD, and life transitions. My passion is holding space for kiddos and teens, walking with them on their journey through the tough stuff.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Bachelors degree in Psychology in 2017 and my Masters degree in Professional Counseling in 2020 both from Texas State University. I am licensed to practice in the state of Texas as an LPC Associate, supervised by Elizabeth Kjellstrand Hartwig, PhD, LPC-S, LMFT, RPT-S. While in graduate school, most of my training was in play therapy. While you and I, as adults, communicate through our words, kids communicate through their play. My job is to take the insight that they provide me with in the therapy setting and collaborate with them and their caregiver(s) in order to create a more balanced life for all. Sometimes play therapy approaches aren't always appropriate for some children, and that is why I provide traditional talk therapy as well. I have experience working in residential, nonprofit, and private practice settings as is related to counseling.
