Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a way of helping people identify and change their thought patterns and ways of viewing the world that tend to be unhelpful. The premise is that if you can change your thoughts, you can also change your emotion and behaviors.
Mindfulness is a way of helping people to be present and pay attention to their own experience, their thoughts, feelings, sensations, etc. The idea is that if you can be present, you can more easily take in "information" from the world without getting caught up in your own thoughts and judgments.
EMDR is a way to help people reprocess memories from difficult life events in order to heal and move past them. This doesn’t mean that the memories are erased, simply that they have less intensity and are easier to manage. This reduction in intensity often leads to a decrease in symptoms such as anxiety, depression, flashbacks, overwhelm, etc.
