Much of my formal training and clinical experience has been focused on understanding and treating trauma from a holistic point of view. Many factors contribute to the daily experience of suffering from PTSD. I combine evidence-based practices and offer a context where you have the chance to heal and gain perspective, allowing you to once again fully engage with life.
Anxiety shows up in many different ways in life. Some people have specific anxieties around performance issues or public speaking. Others have more general anxiety about many things that interrupt and negatively impact sleep, relationships, and daily living. CBT is an effective and evidence-based therapeutic approach to overcoming and managing anxiety in life. I can help you create a personalized plan to understand, work with, and manage your anxiety in a meaningful way.
Depression is one of the most misunderstood and common mental health conditions experienced across many age groups, cultures, and genders. I have dealt with and worked through overcoming depression myself related to trauma, cross-cultural transitions, self-image issues, and dealing with unexpected change. I use evidence-based treatments and practices based on research giving you the tools, knowledge, and skills to foster hope and craft a life worth living.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy works off the premise that you inherently possess all the resources you need in life and by helping you get clear about your desired future, the plan and pathway can be revealed. I am convinced of the value of each individual and in your right to hopes and dreams. I have used SFBT to help individuals reimagine and reframe their lives. By using this approach you can be drawn toward life in an inviting and inspiring way.
Motivational Interviewing seeks to elicit the deep desires and motivations of the individual and to uncover the obstacles and internal resistance that may be present. I have seen and used Motivational Interviewing to assist many in better understanding themselves and the world around them, working to achieve personal goals and overcome obstacles.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a broad category of therapeutic approaches that aim to aid clients to recognize and work to change unhelpful or negative thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. The beauty and power of CBT have allowed me to help many clients see positive shifts in their thoughts, mood, and daily functioning, and to see an increased sense of happiness and overall well-being. Research supports this approach as effective in treating many mental health conditions.
