I grew up in the churches and cornfields of Iowa. I knew I was gay when I was 11 and spent the next thirteen years of my life trying to come to terms with my sexuality and what people around me taught. These were years of shame, fear, bargaining with God, and struggle. My own therapist helped me see that I can live a happy, fulfilling life. Now, I help others discover the same.
I work in a client-centered way, with a preference for depth based work. This means that while we'll certainly spend time working on your symptoms, we'll also go deeper and ask why your symptoms are there to begin with. I specialize in working with issues of abuse and also have extensive experience working with queer people who have religious trauma.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of Washington (#MC60884578).
