Collaborative, somatic therapy
Associate Marriage & Family Therapist in Oakland, CA
Supervised by Susan Lourme, LMFT
For many years, I worked in animal rescue and animal welfare in the Bay Area. I volunteer with Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco, California, and rescue senior dogs. As someone who has loved and lost two senior dogs over the past several years, I understand the pain that comes with losing a companion animal. If your loved one passed over the rainbow bridge, you are not alone. This space will honor your grief and support you in your journey.
My own lived experience of embracing my queer identity and navigating relationships with transitioning gender and sexual identities informs my work of supporting others through this process. I hold an affirming space for partners and individuals to explore and embrace transitions in sexuality and gender, as well as neurodiversity.
In addition to Hakomi, which is a body-centered, mindfulness-based modality, I began formal training in relational somatic healing beginning in 2021. To learn more about relational somatic healing, led by Shir Dvir, visit their website: https://relationalsomatichealing.com
Having completed the first year of professional training in Hakomi, I now a teaching assistant for the 2021-2022 round of training. I also participate in regular practice and supervision groups to continue deepening my skills with this method.
I have received formal training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and continue to receive ongoing training and supervision in this model. EFT is an evidence-based model rooted in attachment theory that is proven to help couples and individuals navigate distress and foster long-lasting connection and change.
