This is my default mode as a therapist. It's where you bring whoever you are into therapy and I'm just really curious about who you are as a human, and I try to use curiosity and compassion to get to know you while you get to know yourself. There's nothing particularly fancy in explaining this, but it's some of the most effective therapy there is.
I'm pretty extensively trained in DBT, which means if you have any life threatening or self-injurious kinds of behaviors, you're kind of unstable and all over the place, you have rollercoaster emotions and relationships, and you can't get control of yourself -- I might be able to help you change. DBT is really, really good for these kinds of intense behavioral and emotional problems, but it also requires that you do a lot of work as well.
