About My Clients
Does the world sometimes feel like it's too much? Do past events continue to haunt you? Do you struggle with your relationship with food and your body? Do you show up for others but struggle to care for yourself? It can be exhausting to feel this way, and sometimes, it makes people want to hide their emotions. Therapy can offer the tools and support so you can show up courageously in your life in a present, connected, and embodied way.
My Background and Approach
I work from the perspectives of anti-oppression, including anti-racism, anti-diet, anti-ableism, and trauma-informed. I help emotionally sensitive people understand their responses, build excellent coping skills, and move forward with important goals. I love working with creative folks, including fellow artists and healers. I provide a space where you are seen, honored, understood, and not judged. My background is in mindfulness-based approaches that offer solid skills and practices (including DBT and ACT). Also, I'm an artist and a little bit woo-woo. So in our work together, we might talk about plants and crystals. We might talk about brain science, spirituality, and creative practices. We'll probably practice some grounding techniques. It's likely that we will explore what you want to do and, with compassion and curiosity, figure out what's holding you back. Our work will be collaborative and tailored towards your goals and interests.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Living a life of balance and courage takes a lot of focus, determination, and clarity. To do this, we all need support and skills. Along with my years of therapy training, I've also done personal therapy work and spiritual work; I bring this understanding to the work we do together. It is an act of compassion to turn towards your difficulties and seek out healing and groundedness. I know this is hard to do, and you don't have to do it alone. I'm here to help you get more present and more connected in your life.
