About My Clients
Your work as a helping professional puts you at risk for burnout. Here you are, growing dim on the inside and wondering if you’ll ever live in color again. The good news is that what burns out can burn bright again if the spark of creativity is reignited. Since 2013 I’ve helped helping professionals create better outcomes for themselves and rejoice in their resilience. After all you’ve done for others, isn’t it about time for you to shine? See https://www.meganvanmeter.com/ to get started!
How I Can Help You
You don’t have to face burnout alone in the dark. Other helping professionals like you have reignited their creative spark and rediscovered their power source--only they didn’t get there by chasing the myth of self-care. They needed a hands-on approach for weaving together the physical, emotional, and intellectual parts of themselves that burnout ripped apart, and that’s where I come in. I’m a board-certified registered art therapist and licensed mental health professional. In 2013 I began to help helping professionals spark the fire of creativity--that same fire you felt when you first realized you wanted to be a helper. I’ve watched these special people rise from their ashes and realize they could give to others without losing themselves. Over the years I’ve been told that my calming presence and trust in other people’s process helped them grow and glow at a pace that made sense to them and let them return to living in color. I’d love to help you return to living in color too.
Why I am a Good Fit for You
You find it hard to ask for help, which means you’re a helper. I’m a helper too. And I’ve known burnout as I worked in behavioral health, correctional, educational, medical, and social services settings. I also know what it means to be a caregiver and a target of workplace bullying. Asking for help was hard, but my future depended on it--I had to create a future for myself out of the darkness, and so do you. Creating is an active process. Talking about the future won’t create it, and you can’t talk about things you can’t put into words--like the full-body experience of burnout, or the full-body experience of marginalization, which leaves you apt to succumb to burnout faster than your peers. I became an art therapist to help you create a better outcome using your very own eyes and hands and the full-body wisdom they’re connected to.
