About My Clients
Though life’s changes may be inevitable, they can be immensely overwhelming. Perhaps you find yourself putting your energy into being the perfect student, a good child, the ideal partner, or an exceptional employee to reduce the uncertainty "what if?" You try repeatedly to control the outcomes, but this leaves you feeling intense pressure to be perfect, look perfect, or "do better." Life will always be messy and full of uncertainty, but it can be simpler. I'm here to help.
My Background and Approach
I have experience and training in a variety of therapeutic modalities, and take an eclectic approach when applying each to my practice. Together, we will use these theories in session to look at your personal goals, uncover which pieces work for you, and leave the rest on the shelf. The most critical element of healing, however, is the relationship between therapist and client. When we meet, I hope you feel supported, comforted, curious, and safe. Without these things, no treatment theory will ever be enough. I support clients through a trauma informed lens- processing physical and sexual trauma, eating disorders & body image, LGBTQIA+ issues, gender & sexual identity, ADHD, and PTSD, and Health At Every Size lens.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the only guarantee we have in life is change. It is inevitable and uncontrollable, but we DO have the ability to accept it and still feel free. I have learned the more I try to control in life, the more chaotic life feels. I aim to create space for others to heal, and share their voices so they can make sense of the chaos. By healing as individuals, we can make our communities stronger. I am a proud advocate and member of the LGBTQ+ community. I volunteer in community spaces that offer free services for BIPOC, LGBTQ+ populations and advocate for social change. I am a fat positive and Health at Every Size eating disorder treatment provider. My values and my work are inseparable, and this has made me the clinician and human I am today. If you want to explore and understand the chaos within, let me know.
