About My Clients
Have you been wondering where all the anxiety, self doubt and heavy fog come from and how you can feel better? Do you suspect that trauma is holding you back, and wonder what you could accomplish without it? My clients want to understand themselves on a deeper level, discover their purpose, improve their relationships and empower themselves with evidence-based tools for trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic illness and communication. I honor the unique identity of all humans I serve.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, self-reparenting and couples work. I emphasize living mindfully in the present and helping you shift the past into a learning experience rather than a painful experience. My specialties include trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, life transitions, and chronic illness. I understand my clients’ struggles on a cellular level using personal experience, intuition and evidence-based practices to find the place where logic and emotion meet. I listen intently, offer tools to soothe your nervous system, help you figure out where the problem started, process through what is keeping you stuck, and help you take action in the present with compassion, honesty, insight and the occasional bad joke.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe life is a school and a playground. I believe we are here to discover our true nature. I believe we can accept both reality and mystery. I believe the truth lies in the balance of all things. I love the scientific and the esoteric. I enjoy research articles and NPR as much as I enjoy exploring our inner mysteries, the interconnectedness of all things and instigating living room dance parties. I believe we are the experts of our own bodies and must never give up advocating for what we need to support our health and wellbeing. As a person who has lived with chronic illness most of my life, I have accumulated knowledge about Western, holistic, and mindfulness based approaches for living with complex disorders and continue to learn each day.
