About My Clients
My clients are 20 & 30-somethings who are navigating all the big transitions and emotions that come with where they are in life. They are often: 1) Empaths and “HSPs” who feel deeply and are afraid that something is “wrong” with them or have been told that they are too “sensitive” 2) Helpers or “over-givers” who want healthier relationships with themselves and others 3) Enneagram enthusiasts who want to grow 4) Premarital and young couples wanting to start their marriage off on the right foot
My Background and Approach
I help clients gain greater self awareness through my extensive training with in the Enneagram. I am certified in Brainspotting, and use this tool to support my clients as they work through various kinds of trauma and emotional difficulty. I help couples find deeper connection and engagement with my special training in Emotionally Focused Therapy. I help my clients gain greater self and relationship awareness with my training in Attachment Theory and I received my Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Seminary, and thus am specially prepared to explore aspects of religion and spirituality with my clients as they feel the need. The most important training I have, however, is in the fact that I'm just a flawed human being, who goes through hardships and difficulties (just like my clients), who is also trying to grow. This quote best sums up my approach: “Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul be just another human soul.” Carl Jung
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that growth and positive change occurs most in an environment of "safe haven", a place where we are seen, heard, known, and accepted. I strive to know my own biases and privilege because I believe that doing so is the only way to create "safe haven". I believe that Black Lives Matter. I support the LGBTQ+ community. I believe that being a 20 or 30-something can be a uniquely difficult time of life, and that is especially true for Millennials and Gen Zs. I know this to be true personally, having navigated college and grad school, dating, marriage, children, and career in the midst of recessions, pandemic, and general national and international upheaval. I believe that it can also be a time of amazing possibility personal growth. I believe that coffee and cocktails are the best of beverages, that rain is the best kind of weather, and that The West Wing is the best TV show on earth (fight me).
