About My Clients
I work with individuals who have experienced various types of trauma, grief/loss, childhood abuse and/or family of origin related issues. At times, these experiences may show up later in life and may manifest as anxiety, depression or even PTSD. You may realize you have been living your life in survival mode based on your past experiences. I can assist in empowering you to heal those deeper wounds in order to live the life of your choosing.
My Background and Approach
I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds, identities and experiences at a variety of settings that include foster care, substance use, community mental health and rape crisis centers. I have extensively worked with those who identify with the Latinx(o)(a), Bicultural experience and can provide therapy in the languages of English, Spanish and Spanglish, (a blend of English and Spanish). I offer a holistic psychotherapeutic approach to healing that encompasses a combination of mind, body and soul healing. I utilize a combination of traditional talk psychotherapy (such as CBT) along with guided meditation, hypnotherapy, and inner child healing to access the root of your issues. Together, we can identify some of your patterns, assist in managing your emotions and process your experiences while challenging you to grow in your process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all want to be seen and heard in this world for our authentic selves. True healing takes place in the mind, body and soul connection. For example, the impact of a traumatic experience can manifest in the body as physical pain. The soul can feel fragmented by the loss of a loved one and the thoughts in our mind can affect our emotions as a result. In my experience, healing also involves the intersections of culture, race and sexual identity. As a Latina(x) therapist, I understand personally as well as therapeutically how culture and race have been significant in how I've navigated my own experiences. As a therapist, I feel privileged to be a part of someone's healing process.
