About My Clients
Are you feeling overwhelmed but not sure why, or maybe there are too many why's? Everything is spinning around in your head, and you don't know where to start? It's like a tangled ball of pain and experiences that are spilling into your daily life. Revealing itself over countless behaviors, emotions, and physical responses. I'm here to support you in releasing the pain that is holding you back from loving and accepting every part of you (yep, even those parts).
My Background and Approach
Utilizing a trauma informed lens in practice allows for you to approach what you're doing through with more compassion and less shame. I take a direct and compassionate approach to allow for a dialogue, feedback, and movement in session. I'm here if you want to dig deep, and get to the root of the issues to create changes. I've been in practice for over 16 years, and specialize in adults, adolescents, and couples. I've worked in psychiatrist hospital programs and private practice. This allows me to assess different levels of care when necessary, and provide ample coping skills to manage. I strive to provide a collaborative experience, so you feel you are getting what you need most out of therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone deserves to feel self worth. You matter. I believe you deserve the space where there is freedom of expression and compassionate support to be held for you to heal. I volunteer on the executive board of &Rise which is a non profit raising awareness and services for survivors of abuse to provide needs, therapy, and ongoing support. I'm an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, and provide education and talks to the community to raise awareness and acceptance. As a survivor, spouse, and parent, I've sat on the couch too. Working on my own struggles is an ongoing process, and a belief I have to show up as an effective therapist for others. It's important to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. I'm currently in the Sexual Health Certificate program at University of Michigan with a Sex Therapy track.
