I've been trained to level 2 in the Gottman couples counseling method. This training bolsters my Prepare/Enrich certification for premarital work. This means that the methods I use to improve communication and emotional intimacy in couples are well researched and effective in terms of outcomes. I cannot guarantee a couple will stay together but I can promise that you will learn a great deal about yourself, your partner, and your relational dynamics in a safe and supportive environment. I've been trained in the emotional freedom technique for trauma work. EFT is a somatic progressive exposure technique. It is body focused, using grounding techniques to keep yourself safely within the limits you are comfortable with. It employs a consistent, stable and guided method to retrain your brain, creating lasting effects that can have a huge and positive impact on general functioning. EFT can be a life changer for trauma, self image, and performance.

I grew up as a missionary kid all around western Europe in a bi-cultural (American and Venezuelan) family of seven. This third culture upbringing, as well as cultivating a personal faith, have had a huge impact on my perspective of life. I find joy in little things and have a wide ranging sense of humor that influences much of what I do. While I view my faith as integral in the motivation and purpose behind the work I do, I will never impose my beliefs onto clients. I honor and respect all walks of life and am always learning.
