I believe our emotional gut guides our perception & behaviors, a belief largely shaped by extensive Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) training. I’ll help you access those underlying emotions & gain a deeper, more tangible understanding of what drives you. As you get more in tune with your emotional experiences, I’ll help you spot & deconstruct unhealthy patterns of dealing with them (i.e. withdrawal, escape, eruptions, toxic relationships) & developing more satisfying ways to approach life.
I also use EMDR, a unique form of therapy designed to help us heal from distressing & traumatic life experiences. Our brains have a natural ability to recover from distress. But sometimes this recovery process is short-circuited when an experience is so upsetting that it is frozen in your body’s nervous system with all the sights, sounds, smells, sensations, emotions, & beliefs that were present at the time of the incident. EMDR helps reprocess these experiences & develop more adaptive beliefs.
