About My Clients
I work with individuals (13 years and older), families, couples, & co-parents as they face challenges in life as they process through past and current trauma. While I am not a certified SUDP, I work with individuals, families and couples impacted by the disease of alcohol and addiction. I am highly skilled working with those who struggling with generalized anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, self esteem issues, family conflict, stress, grief, depression and career and life transitions.
My Background and Approach
The majority of my career has been spent supporting adolescents, families and couples as a school counselor. I opened my part-time private practice to support families and individuals affected by addiction and alcoholism. My practice has evolved offering mental health counseling for a variety of issues. I use effective counseling techniques including but not limited to: rational emotive therapy, reality therapy, cognitive behavioral theory (CBT), solution-focused, narrative, person-centered and family systems. I believe each patient is unique and comes into therapy carrying their own life experiences. When we learn to turn our focus on ourselves changing our reactions to problems, we begin to grow in new and exciting directions. I will help you set goals to accomplish your dreams, navigate through obstacles, develop communication skills to enhance your relationships with others and build resilience when dealing with conflict.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I consider it a privilege to have your trust as you share your story with me. I will work at your pace supporting you on your journey towards inner peace and happiness. I believe there is no negative situation or experience through our personal work that can't be improved and even in the most difficult of circumstances you can find peace and even happiness. I will help you change the way you communicate and react to others and experiences in your life through looking at experiences thought an empathetic lens. My hope and belief is that by focusing on improving these areas within ourselves, we can create more meaningful life experiences.
