Trauma Memories are painful, intrusive, and disrupt your life, but there are gentle memory management skill that can remove the emotional charge, triggers, and intensity of your flashback or memory. The techniques do not allow your brain to revisit the trauma, but you are able to restructure the memory and obtain closure. The memory is then placed into the long-term memory bank without the emotional charge. If the memory is pulled up into consciousness, it has no emotional effect.
Addiction is a DISEASE where one is never enough & two are too many. Not about will-power. Family history, mental health, and your environment can be risk factors for addiction susceptibility. Peer pressure, sadness, wanting to chill, & chronic stress, can lead to tolerance, where you no longer have control & find out you've had "brown outs" or "black outs". If you are suffering from addiction it is most likely adversely effecting your family, work, and health. Help is here...

And then there is Clinical Depression that is characterized by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, changes in sleep/appetite, hopelessness and helplessness. PTSD can occur from childhood abuse, living through violence, disasters, war, or being witness to horrific events, which leave you with intrusive memories & difficulty functioning. Depending on how you are affected, trauma can cause difficulties in your daily life: mood disorders, trust & relationship issues, misuse of alcohol/drugs, or self-harm to cope with the painful memories and emotions. With specific therapy you can obtain resolution, for your mind and body, without replaying the events.
