About My Clients
I enjoy working with folks across the lifespan, ranging from teens to older adults. I specialize in supporting clients with depression, anxiety, substance use, OCD, ADHD, complex trauma, and identity or cultural concerns related to gender, race, or sexuality. I am experienced working with LGBTQ teens and adults, artists and musicians, as well as activists or change makers.
My Background and Approach
As an art therapist, I integrate person-centered, strengths-based, and relational cultural frameworks into my clinical approach. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is key to fostering change, and that art is a helpful tool for creating connection. I honor the knowledge and lived experience of each client, acknowledging the impact of systemic oppression on our individual and collective wellness. My counseling style is warm, collaborative, and relatable. I enjoy using humor as a way to connect and cope with life's challenges. My professional experience includes outpatient settings such as private practice, community mental health centers, and substance use treatment agencies. I have also worked in hospital settings for inpatient psychiatric and residential rehabilitation, as well as medical rehabilitation for chronic illness, stroke, and traumatic brain injuries.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone deserves access to quality, affirming mental heath care. It is important to me, as both a person and professional, that people feel seen, heard, and valued. I strive to provide care that is disability-centered, anti-oppressive, and feminist. I acknowledge my own positionality and privilege as a white, lesbian, neurodivergent, cis-gendered woman and therapist. I support movements for racial equity, trans rights, and access to abortion care.
