About My Clients

No one gets to adulthood without living through painful experiences. You may be feeling the effects of a single traumatic incident (sexual victimization, a tragic natural disaster, or the sudden loss of a dear one), or you may be struggling with the weight of years of hurtful events. The term "trauma" seems like a buzzword these days, but for some, trauma has deeply influenced our lives. When we experience suffering, we can feel like it becomes our identity. But, healing from trauma is possible!

My Background and Approach

For over eighteen years, I have had the honor of working with survivors of trauma, helping them heal through effective therapy and support. I dedicate time to training clinicians, advocates, and community members on issues related to sexual violence, including effective treatment practices, principles of trauma-informed survivor-centered care, the impact of trauma on survivors and systems, and social/cultural issues in sexual assault treatment and advocacy. If you are looking for a safe space, and an expert guide, to explore those events that have impacted your life and help you to heal, I'm here to help. I specialize in working with those impacted by painful life events, individuals, couples & families, as well as professionals. Additionally, I consult with and guide organizations on creating shared vision, preventing and healing from organizational trauma, building cultures of care for clients and staff, and the implementation of trauma-informed care policies and practices.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

"Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars." -- Kahlil Gibran My most deeply held belief is that we all have the capacity to heal -- as individuals, as families, and as communities. I am a community advocate and activist for the rights of sexual assault survivors and have held several leadership positions including an officer for the Dallas County Sexual Assault Coalition, a founding board member of the Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center, and a former President of the Board of the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
