Throughout my career continually use and have seen success in psychodrama. Psychodrama is a type of experiential, action-based therapy in which people explore issues by acting out events from their past or current events in their life.
Having worked both in the inpatient and outpatient level people struggling with substance use, alcoholism and sex addiction is a unique and in-depth understanding of the causes and conditions. I also understand that part of recovery needs to be a solution focued
Sex addiction is a unique and complex issue. My experience working at the Prescott house a household name in the treatment of sex addiction and that the Meadows IOP running their men's intimacy group has made me uniquely qualified to work with sex addicts. As a CSAT-C I have experience utilizing Patrick Carnes 30 task model in addition to other modalities. Sex addicts for the 1st time have a straightforward roadmap for recovery and I found healing.
Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) is one common form of PTSD in men struggling with addictions. People with complex PTSD generally experience "Emotional Flashbacks which are instant and sometimes prolonged regressions into the intense, overwhelming feeling states of childhood abuse and neglect: fear, shame, alienation, rage, grief and/or depression".
