About My Clients
I approach the process of therapy with the deepest respect for the inherent wholeness and dignity of every individual I have the privilege to work with. I will support you in addressing the challenges of chronic stress and the painful effects of trauma while holding the conviction that your capacity for connection, peace, and aliveness is your birthright. I will accompany you as you begin to find your way back to a truer, more vital and clear sense of who you are and what is important to you.
My Background and Approach
In our work together, we will collaborate in exploring beliefs and patterns of behavior you may have taken on a long time ago and the ways they show up in your life today. As a somatic therapist, I will listen to the cues of your nervous system and will support you in developing skills and having tools to help you reclaim calm, confidence, and strength. The main models I use are: Somatic Experiencing - a somatic trauma resolution approach; Internal Family Systems (IFS) - working with inner parts toward harmonizing the mind; and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) - a relational model of psychotherapy. I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), IFS Level 2-trained, and a Level 1 AEDP therapist. I have completed additional trainings in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Coherence Therapy and Focusing. In addition to my graduate degree in Counseling, I hold a Master's Degree in Positive Psychology and work from a strengths-based orientation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The focus of my work is somatic and experiential, grounded in understanding of how the body and nervous system respond to overwhelming experience and the pathways back to presence, calm and aliveness.
