About My Clients
I love creating space for the busy woman who is always “there” to help and support others, but doesn’t feel like she’s getting the same support in return.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I practice primarily from a psychodynamic and trauma treatment orientation. Clients who work with me typically have a history of dealing with anxiety, sadness, being overwhelmed, childhood trauma and strained relationships with significant others. I utilize interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to reduce symptoms as quickly as possible prior to exploring core issues in a more in-depth manner. Additionally, I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy as well as Interpersonal (IPT) Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Life can be hard. It doesn’t necessarily get easier, we just get better at developing the tools to manage and move through it. I believe that therapy is simply a safe relationship where a person (client) is given time and space to explore the things that have happened in their life. As a clinician with lived experience dealing with overwhelming events in life, I know firsthand how it feels to shoulder heavy moments on my own, versus having the emotional support of a caring other! Knowing that you aren't required to carry your burdens on your own is a relief that I strive to give ALL of my clients in therapy.
