I have been seeing clients for the past fifteen years. My style is to provide direct feedback and use humor to create a deep connection.
Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut
I have taken a training and became a Grief Recovery Specialist. Basically, I address with clients what is emotionally resolved with whomever you are grieving, whether the person is alive or dead. There are specific tools that you learn to complete what is emotionally unresolved.
I have experienced burnout during the course of my life, and understand when there may be a time to begin taking risks. Reinventing yourself is vital. I will help you begin recognizing what is occurring deep inside you, and how you can start living a more balanced life.
Getting older brings an entire set of concerns. My niche is Midlife Transitions, as I had upheaval in my own midlife. I will help you learn to look at your thoughts and beliefs, and go beyond what you thought was capable of living just an ordinary life.
I examine and offer tools to help you understand how your thoughts and beliefs may have become distorted over time. These thoughts and beliefs are vital for you to understand how you behave the way you do.
It is my belief that, through years of helping clients, at times talking only may not help. I will do role plays, dramatizations of your life with key people, and act out what may have gone on in your life. This will help you get a much better perspective as to what keeps you stuck.
When I was doing my Capstone Project, like a dissertation, as I finished graduate school, I studied just how vital your Attachment style was early on in your young life, and how that connects to what is going on with you today.
