I believe everyone inherently possesses the strengths and tools they need to overcome the challenges in their lives. Everyone develops effective coping skills for the situations in their lives, however, maybe those ways of coping are no longer serving you/are no longer beneficial. Because of this, it is important to not pathologize those habits, but instead use them to gain insight and meaning in one's life, as well as provide guidance in developing new ones!
Additionally, at my practice, we strongly believe in advocating for our clients; ignoring the socio-political climate and it's impacts on client's mental health is irresponsible. Contributing to causes that help alleviate this stress for clients is a major part of what I do!
