About My Clients
I work with individuals from the ages 13 and up. Areas that I am particularly passionate about are anxiety, depression, ADHD, guilt/shame, perfectionism, self-esteem, interpersonal conflicts, issues around faith and spirituality, and processing the challenges of growing up in an immigrant household.
My Background and Approach
My approach to counseling is to create a safe and open atmosphere where you are able to share freely without fear of judgment or shame. As we dive into the various challenges that you face, I will work with you to collaboratively create goals and outcomes that you would like to see in your life. It is my honor to be invited into your story, and I will do my best to serve and assist you, as you seek health and wholeness. I work from a person-centered and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) base but I also incorporate different approaches of therapy to best serve the needs of my clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my previous careers, I worked as a pastor and mentor at a non-profit organization. In both of those experiences, I worked from the worldview that every single person is inherently valuable and deserving of dignity and respect. I believe that when people begin to believe that for themselves, it allows them to make strides in self-compassion and self-belief, which are important ingredients for change. It is that framework that I take into every therapy session.
