About My Clients
I provide psychotherapy to individuals who are challenged in their interpersonal relationships and/or integrating capacities. I primarily work with anxiety, depression, gender/ sexual identity, trauma/abuse, work stressors, life transitions and attachment.
My Background and Approach
With over a decade of experience, my approach to therapy is informed by the belief that the therapeutic alliance is a significant predictor of treatment success. I prioritize fostering the therapeutic alliance, which can be the cornerstone for repairing emotional traumas and sustaining meaningful connections by prioritizing clients' values and collaboratively facing the shame and discomfort that often underlie our pain. Central to my practice is providing affirming care to QTBIPOC living with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, grief, and loss. My approach includes elements of attachment-based therapy, EMDR, and somatic experiencing modalities, with acknowledgment that some modalities can be highly individualistic and potentially limiting in healing. I tailor my approach to each client's unique needs, prioritizing the therapeutic alliance with an emphasis on a non-pathologizing perspective.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer, first-generation college graduate from a low socioeconomic background and a descendant of a Xicana mother and a white father, I am committed to working with individuals from a range of intersecting identities. Drawing from my 15 years of personal experience within my own psychotherapy, I deeply believe in the importance of a strong therapeutic alliance. In my practice, I prioritize helping individuals navigate multi-systemic oppression while embracing their intersecting identities.
