My Background and Approach
My approach is rooted in understanding how the body holds onto stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma and how our experiences affect our ability to tolerate distress or navigate relationships. I'm also trained in helping people overcome interfering symptoms through integrative therapy techniques. As a dual-state licensed therapist with experience in various behavioral health settings, I have developed therapeutic skills to meet you where you're at and support you to heal and grow. My expertise in art therapy can help you non-verbally process your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, feel empowered, and find meaning through creativity. We will work together to develop practical tools and coping skills that fit your individual needs. I will listen to your story empathically and provide a safe space for you to process. I strive to help you reach your goals and feel connected mind, body, and spirit.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I believe in equality and racial justice. I uphold these values both personally and professionally. I have years of experience working with marginalized and underserved populations. Based on my clinical work in community settings, I understand how social determinants of health affect people's ability to change and thrive. I'm proud of these experiences because they taught me to understand my privilege, how to be an ally, and advocate for those in need. Throughout my career, I have continued to engage in community outreach, and I hope to create spaces where people can connect through art for social action.
